Welcome!
We are excited about our 8th year of bringing the sport of lacrosse to the children of the Danville, Alamo and San Ramon area. The success of our program has helped lead to the creation of lacrosse programs for both girls and boys at all of our local High Schools. We will look to improve upon our success from last year, which saw 450 players spend their Spring having fun, improving their skills, demonstrating teamwork and exhibiting their passion for the game.

This year our challenge will continue. We are again expecting at least 450 players. However, we believe there will be significantly more kids who want to play but the Scorpion Program will be unable to accommodate them because of limited qualified coaches.

New Coaches and Assistant Coaches Needed!
Therefore we make a plea to all new or current parents (with coaching experience from other sports) with kids that are playing this year. Please consider volunteering to be an assistant coach. We will teach you the game and hopefully in a year or two you can be ready to take over a team of your own enabling our growth by another 25 players. We will provide coaching clinics, assistance and whatever else is needed to have a successful season.

Registration Age Groups and Costs
(price includes US Lacrosse registration fee):

8th & 7th Grade Boys (14-18 Games, Practice or Games 2- 3x per week*) $285
6th & 5th Grade Boys (14-18 Games, Practice or Games 2- 3x per week*) $255
4th Grade Boys (8-12 Games Practice or Games 2x per week*) $200
2nd & 3rd Grade Boys (3-4 Games, Practice or Games each Sunday) $150
K & 1st Grade Boys (Practice and Clinics each Sunday*) $150


5th, 6th, 7th & 8th Grade Girls (12-14 Games, Practice or Games 2-3x per week*) $225 (5th grade $150)
4th Grade Girls Developmental (10-12* Games, Practice or Games 1-2x per week*) $150


Attention: Boys and Girls 4th to 8th graders: If you fail to register on or before Dec 31, a $100 late fee will be charged.
* Approximations, based upon many factors including coaches, how many other teams there are at the specific age group and the weather.


Refunds
If a Player registers and chooses not to participate before the season starts, there will be a $25 administrative charge deducted from any refund.

Evaluation, Team Selection, and Pre-Season Practice Schedule
Evaluations of players (5th though 8th grade boys and 6th through 8th grade girls) will take place the weeks of Jan 14th and 21st, 2008 at Sycamore Turf Field.

Once the evaluation is completed, players will be assigned a team based on their ability. This group will begin practices the week of January 28th, 2008. The Boys 4th Grade group will begin practice the first week in February and the Girl’s and Boys Developmental Groups will begin practices this first Sunday in March.

Season Schedule
The Game season runs from approximately March 1st – May 25th for Boys 4th Grade and older, and the 5th-8th grade Girls’ teams.

US Lacrosse
US Lacrosse membership is included in price above; we will collect all required data and send to US Lacrosse. US Lacrosse will send each player a confirmation for a full year membership for new members and for an additional year from your anniversary date for current members.

Wait Listing
If you are unable to register because the age group is full, please join the wait list. In the past we have been able to get many players on teams from the wait list, and it also provides us with knowledge of how many kids want to play the game but unfortunately cannot.

Parent Volunteering
VOLUNTEER DUTY REQUIRED from all parents, or pay a $100 non volunteer Surcharge. Please note that Head Coach Volunteers receive full credit for their child’s registration fee and Assistant Coach Volunteers receive a $100 credit on their child’s registration fee.

Residency
NON RESIDENTS of DANVILLE, ALAMO or SAN RAMON will be put on wait list and only accepted into the program if any age group is not full at the end of registration.

Equipment required
Boys: Helmet, Shoulder Pads, Arm Pads, Gloves, Lacrosse Stick, Mouthpiece, and jock. Boys equipment packages start at around $229.

Girls: Lacrosse Stick, Eye Guard, Mouthpiece. Girls equipment cost $60 - $120.

Physical Contact
Boys Lacrosse is a contact sport. Body checking is allowed at the Junior level (7th & 8th Grade)
